Dear soundRUNNER Friends and Family,

Wow...what an amazing 12 years. Opening soundRUNNER the day after Thanksgiving November 2001 was a very interesting time. As all of you reading this will remember, that was the first Thanksgiving after that fateful and tragic day of September 11th.  I know we all remember where we were...I was glued to the TV waiting for one of my reps to show me apparel and footwear for my new venture, a specialty running store called "soundRUNNER."My sons, Preston, Alexander and Maxwell were in school and I was trying to wrap my head around what was happening to the world, how it would impact my children and whether continuing my plan of opening soundRUNNER was the right thing to do at such an uncertain time.

What I determined was two things: One, if you don't put yourself out there you'll never know if you can compete, and Two, there are a lot of things we can't control in our lives, but we can control taking care of ourselves and create a healthy lifestyle. That was the impetus for continuing down the path in pursuit of opening soundRUNNER.

Over the last 12 years I have watched two of my sons marry, and one become engaged. I have experienced the joy of daughters-in-law and the spectacular birth of my first grandchild.I endured several personal and serious medical issues, and death of parents. Lost some amazing close friends; one of whom was the catalyst for soundRUNNER's involvement in both the soundRUNNER Turkey Trot and the Sea Legs Shuffle.

The reason I mention these events is because of the community that soundRUNNER fostered. All of you receiving this letter are part of that community. You have supported not only our efforts to properly fitindividuals and provide footwear and apparel for active lifestyles, but also assisted in building an amazing community which promotes that healthy and active lifestyle.

Now, all these years later, I have made a decision to sell soundRUNNER. I have been working very hard for the last 6 months to find someone who would be the best fit at continuing the efforts that we are proud to have provided to the Shoreline communities. I am happy to announce that soundRUNNER found Marathon Sports of Boston. individuals and provide footwear and apparel for active lifestyles, but also assisted in building an amazing community which promotes that healthy and active lifestyle.rents. Lost some amazing close friends; one of whom was the catalyst for soundRUNNER's involvement in both the soundRUNNER Turkey Trot and the Sea Legs Shuffle.

Like soundRUNNER, Marathon Sports is a collection of individuals bound by a common thread: the love of all things that promote a positive and healthy lifestyle. Owner Colin Peddie and his entire team are prepared to and will continue to support the entire staff and efforts soundRUNNER has set in place.

Putting the details of the purchase together was something that we took very seriously. Colin and I both knew it was important to be consistent, namely not to change the staff whom you have come to know, respect, and appreciate. So, the team members that you have trusted since 2001 will remain the same. Additionally, Preston will continue in his role of General Manager of both the Branford and Old Saybrook locations.d efforts soundRUNNER has set in place.

As for me, I will absolutely be involved. My mission has always been to give people tools and support so they can take care of themselves, and that will not change. In my role, I will continue to work in the store...but this change will also enable me to reach out to a larger audience and to expose people to the benefits of taking care of themselves through a healthy and active lifestyle.

Over the next few months you will see our support of the running community increase through a renewed focus on educational clinics and workshops, new product additions, and some modest changes in store merchandising. We look forward to your support and feedback as we continue to grow soundRUNNER and provide opportunities to help you reach your fitness goals.

Thank you for your continued support!
