This 4-mile road race is flat, scenic, along the shoreline and is the USATF-CT Championship race. The 1.6-Mi Causeway walk is just as scenic and will not interfere with the road race. Both the 4-Mi race and 1.6-Mi walk start at 9:00 AM near the Saybrook Point Inn. The kids (10 and under) 1/3-mi fun run is a hoot and starts after the 4-Mi race finishes. Walkers are asked to use the causeway and stay off the road race course.

In partnership with the Valley Shore YMCA, this is a terrific, family-friendly 5K run (plus kids’ fun run & 2 mile walk) in the village of historic Essex, Ct. While challenging (some hills…we’ve got our own version of “Heartbreak Hill!”), the course rewards you with many scenic views, including glimpses of the Connecticut River. This really is a great event for the whole family (plus, the hills make for some fun, post-race commentary, boasting and banter)!

Hope After Loss, Inc. is a community of women and men who grieve the loss of a pregnancy or infant. Through peer support, burial assistance, education and awareness initiatives, we provide the inspiration of hope to those who have experienced the loss of a baby.
The Footprints on Our Hearts Walk and 5K will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Hubbard Park in Meriden, CT.
The program starts with a Kids Fun Run at 8:45am, a 5K Run/3K Fitness Walk at 9am and a Remembrance Ceremony (where names of babies gone too soon will be read) and Reflective Walk at 10:30am. Participants can sign up for one or all of these events. In addition, you can order a customized memorial sign with a special baby’s name and date that will be on display along the run and walk routes.

Michael E. Walsh was a standout runner at St Paul’s High School and Fordham University who was tragically killed after being hit by a snow plow while running in his hometown of Torrington, CT. This race is being held in his memory.

Please join APK Charities for the fifth annual 5K Run, Ruck March and Kid’s Fun Run. Help to honor the legacy of Capt. Andrew Pedersen-Keel, who gave his life serving our country in Afghanistan.
Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit four charities; Special Forces Charitable Trust, Fisher House West Haven, The APK Charities Endowment Fund with the Madison and Guilford Foundations and Spike’s K9 Fund.
The APK 5K includes a 5K Run, Ruck March and Kid’s Fun Run.

Please bring a backpack with non-perishable food items with the following recommendations: 150 Lbs. and under, 10 lbs.; over 150 lbs., 20 lbs. All food will be donated to the Madison Food Pantry, The Guilford Food Pantry and the St. George Food Pantry after the challenge.
Following the race, hang around for the famous post-race party featuring chili and clam chowder from local vendors. Relax after the race with friends, food and music.

This waterfront half marathon course travels through scenic Hammonasset Beach State Park and waterfront properties of one of CT’s most picturesque Shoreline towns. The half marathon will feature the newly completed Shoreline Greenway Trail. The flat and fast 5K runs entirely in Hammonasset Beach.
Race limited: 1,000 entrants – race day registration not guaranteed!

Course Description: USATF certified course (CT14021JHP) begins at Daisy Ingraham elementary school and proceeds down a hill to Boston Post Road. Runners take a right onto Boston Post Rd. and proceed onto Seaside Avenue by taking a left. Picturesque views of Long Island Sound as the race continues on Seaside Avenue to the turnaround point. Race reverses and finishes back at Daisy.
