    The King of Pain is the toughest road race in the history of Glastonbury and, as anyone who has run it knows, it lives up to its name. The 10 mile course offers breathtaking South Glastonbury orchard scenery, along with hill, after hill, after hill. As a bonus, we scheduled the race smack-dab in the middle of a frigid New England winter.

    #OShenanigans. Kick-off race season with the first of four St. Patrick’s Day themed O’races! This festive 5K starts and finishes outside Kinsmen Brewing Company, just steps from the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail. A fast 3.1 mile course through rural roads in Southington and Cheshire brings runners back to the festivities at the brewery and taproom. Costumes always encouraged!

    Bring your little leprechauns for the Wee Mile, a ¼ or ½ mile race for kids ages 2-11.

  • THE COURTHOUSE O'PUTNAM 5K & WEE MILE // 3.10.2019 // PUTNAM

    #OPutnam. Take a drive to the northeast corner of Connecticut for a fun 5K that starts and finishes in picturesque downtown Putnam. The loop course along the Quinebaug River finishes in front of the Courthouse Bar & Grille, where the post-race party tops off the Irish celebration. Costumes definitely encouraged!

    #ONiantic. No blarney, this is a fast and flat 5K! Get in your favorite green gear for a St. Paddy’s themed race that starts and finishes in front of Niantic Bay Bicycles. Run by the quiet, off-season cottages in the Pine Grove community of Niantic, then celebrate your finish with a post-race party at Smarty’s Restaurant & Pub.

    #OHartford. The annual O’Hartford 5K and Wee Mile o’fficially caps off the four race St. Patrick’s Day series by showing off Hartford’s revitalized Colt neighborhood. The start and finish will be at the steps of the Hooker Brewery Tasting Room in the Colt Building.

    Bagpipers, Irish step dancers, festive fare and cold Hooker brews, plus prizes awarded to the most uniquely dressed participants await at CT’s biggest St. Paddy’s Day road race!

    #Middletown10Mile. Enjoy Middletown’s country roads, Wesleyan University campus and a grand downtown finish on historic Main Street at this 10 mile race – a great early season distance to prep for half marathons in the spring.

    The 3.5 Mile loops around Wesleyan in a course that is great for runners or walkers and accommodating to all paces.

    Bring the family and participate in the HMF FitKids Run- a ¼ mile or ½ mile race for kids ages 2-11.

    Both races finish on Main Street, brimming with swanky restaurants, cool bars, an award-winning local chocolatier, a delectable cupcake bakery and much more. All finishers earn short sleeve tech shirts and custom medals to show off at the post-race celebration, which features Mondo’s pizza, sports massages, vendors and more.

    The 8th annual Ion Bank Cheshire Road Races returns to Cheshire, CT & the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail on April 28! Races include half marathon, relay, 5K & Kids Fun Run.   • BURLINGTON TO COLLINSVILLE CLASSIC 10K // 5.5.2019 // BURLINGTON

    #CollinsvilleClassic10K. A scenic riverside 10K from Burlington to Collinsville takes runners through the multi-use trail along the Farmington River. The course is flat, shaded and filled with incredible views of the sparkling river. Race finish is in downtown Collinsville, a quaint area with restaurants and shops to enjoy post-race.

    All finishers earn a custom short sleeve tech shirt and event medal. After the finish, enjoy delicious chili and cornbread made fresh from Lisa’s Crown & Hammer.

    The Burlington to Collinsville Classic is the first in the three-race CT Triple challenge, taking runners across picturesque communities in CT as they progress from 10K to half marathon to the annual Eversource Hartford Marathon in October.     #IronHorse. Choose 5K, 10K or half marathon and enjoy picturesque courses along the Farmington River and local farmlands. The scenic two-loop half marathon course begins and ends in the center of Simsbury, a charming town center loaded with quaint shops and wonderful restaurants.

    Bring the kids to participate in the HMF FitKids ¼ mile, ½ mile or one mile races. Playground access and activities are available for kids through the morning.

    #runHMF. Celebrate the changing of the seasons with a beautiful early morning trail run in Gay City State Park. Choose a 5.5 or 3.3 mile run through the park and surrounding forests.

    NEW in 2019! The Hartford Marathon Foundation is proud to announce that the Summer Solstice Trail Run 3.3 Mile and 5.5 Mile will be a part of the CT Blue-Blazed Trail Running Series.

    The Blue-Blazed Trail Running Series is a sequence of races in Connecticut that are run entirely or on part on the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails (BBHT). The BBHT are maintained by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA). DETAILS

    Gay City State Park is the remnants of an 18th century abandoned mill town in Hebron, located on Route 85 near the border of Bolton. Participants will pass the remains of the old paper mill, cross over the Blackledge River and view many traditional old stone walls in the deep woods. Trails are well maintained but expect some rocks and roots along the way.

    #HMFevents. The Women’s Triathlon is a sprint distance tri catering to women of all abilities and ages in a friendly, non-intimidating environment. Participants will swim 1/2 mile in Dunning Lake at Winding Trails, then cycle 12 miles through the quiet roads of Farmington and Avon and finish with a flat 5K run on the shaded, wide dirt trails in Winding Trails.

    All participants receive a short sleeve tech shirt, an awesome finisher’s medal and delicious post-race food.

    If you’ve never participated in a triathlon, the Women’s Triathlon is for you. Come along and experience a supportive and friendly environment for beginners and competition for the experienced triathletes.

    #SurftownHalf. Running along the ocean front streets of Misquamicut Beach and Watch Hill, RI, the Surftown Half Marathon is a spectacular beach race featuring stunning views! Fast and flat, the 13.1 mile half marathon is a great destination race with live entertainment on the course, pace teams and a well-marked route with timing clocks, fluid stations and support on the course.

    The 2-person relay gives runners a chance to experience the beach party at the Surftown Half with a buddy! Relay participants exchange at the half-way mark.

    The 5K race offers a 3.1 mile beach run to remember! The fast course runs through the Misquamicut beach community.

  • BLUE BACK MITTEN RUN // 12.8.2019 // WEST HARTFORD

    #MittenRun. This festive family holiday tradition welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to celebrate the season as a community. The 5K winds through West Hartford neighborhoods, lined with homes decorated for the holidays and festive shop windows. Bring the kids to participate in the HMF FitKids run- a ½ mile or one mile dash to Blue Back Square.

    All participants receive a warm knit beanie. High-fives from Santa, gourmet hot chocolate and holiday cookies await finishers for post-race merriment in Blue Back Square.

    Please help support neighbors in need to stay warm this winter – donations of new mittens, gloves, scarves and hats are being collected for The Town That Cares Fund, a program of the Town of West Hartford’s Department of Human and Leisure Services.
