    #runHMF. This beloved women’s 5K welcomes all ages and abilities, encouraging participants to achieve their goals and celebrate fitness.

    The 3.1 mile race starts and finishes in the beautiful Elizabeth Park Rose Garden, offering gorgeous views in a friendly environment. Grab your girlfriends and race as a group, form a mother-daughter duo or go solo and meet new friends along the way! HMF FitKids timed one-mile race also available for kids ages 2-11.

    All participants receive a custom race hat and a post-race party in the park. Enjoy music, fresh food, festive awards and vendors offering goods and information for women interested in health and fitness.

  • ACHILLES CT HOPE & POSSIBILITY 5K & 10K // 7.21.2019 // BLOOMFIELD

    The Achilles Connecticut Hope & Possibility® 5K and 10K is a flat loop course around Bloomfield that also offers a 1.5 mile fitness walk. HMF FitKids ¼ mile and ½ mile races are available for children to participate, all in support of a great cause – Achilles Connecticut! #ACTHP

    The Hope & Possibility® is the signature race of the not-for-profit Achilles International, headquartered in New York City and with Chapters around the world. The race was founded in 2003 with the remarkable story and recovery of avid runner Trisha Meili, author of I Am the Central Park Jogger: A Story of Hope and Possibility.

    The Achilles Connecticut Chapter is excited to bring the Hope & Possibility® brand race back to the Hartford area for the 4th year in a row. The race showcases the differing abilities of athletes of all ages, and shines the spotlight on the power of the human spirit!

    This year marks the 28th running of the Wickham Park Summer Series. All proceeds of these races will continue to support high school runners in several ways.  The money raised through registration fees and t-shirt sales help student-athletes in need purchase shoes and fund team travel opportunities to compete and train out of state. This year local student-athletes are exploring several opportunities including trips to Yellowstone National Park, The Olympic Trails in Eugene, Oregon in 2020 and regional running camps.  Thank you so much in advance for your continued support.

    There are five nights throughout the summer, with a free kids race (1 mile, 6:00 p.m.) and a Co-Ed adult race (2.6 miles ($12 per race or $40 for the series)).

With three different courses and a new theme each month, Riverfront Scrambles provide a happy hour run for all abilities. Rally the work crew or unwind with friends, the Riverfront Scrambles offer a fun alternative post-work get-together that inspire everyone to get moving.

  • PETER PALMER // 8.3.2019 // COVENTRY

    Pete Palmer was as good a friend as anyone could have and would absolutely do anything to help. Pete tragically passed away last year from a traumatic brain injury sustained in a fall. For more than 35 years BIAC has been Connecticut’s partner in brain injury prevention and recovery. They provide critical resources and support to brain injury survivors, their families and caregivers while educating individuals throughout Connecticut about brain injury awareness and prevention. 100% of the profits from the race will go to the Brain Injury Alliance.

    The inaugural Pete Palmer Memorial 5k is a foot race (Run/Walk) that will take place on August 3rd 2019. The 3.1 mile course travels through a section of the town of Coventry with the start and finish at Coventry High School. Packet pickup is scheduled to begin at 7:30 am, with the race start scheduled for 9 am.

    The event is organized by Team MAD Charities (Team Making a Difference), a volunteer organization that raises money to help local charities through road races. The Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut, a non-profit agency serving thousands of children, families and adults in Connecticut will be the beneficiary of the proceeds raised from this event.     The road race will commence from the High School turn right onto Ripley Hill Road, right onto Cooper Lane right onto Root Road and right onto Main Street. Runners will be instructed to only run on the sidewalk on Main Street in the interest of everybody’s safety. The race will finish with a right turn back into the high school entrance.

    Registered runners by July 17th will receive a custom designed wicking t-shirt. Women’s & Unisex sizing available. After July 17th, there is no guarantee of sizing or availability.

  • WOMEN'S TRIATHLON // 9.7.2019 // FARMINGTON

    #HMFevents. The Women’s Triathlon is a sprint distance tri catering to women of all abilities and ages in a friendly, non-intimidating environment. Participants will swim 1/2 mile in Dunning Lake at Winding Trails, then cycle 12 miles through the quiet roads of Farmington and Avon and finish with a flat 5K run on the shaded, wide dirt trails in Winding Trails.

    All participants receive a short sleeve tech shirt, an awesome finisher’s medal and delicious post-race food.

    If you’ve never participated in a triathlon, the Women’s Triathlon is for you. Come along and experience a supportive and friendly environment for beginners and competition for the experienced triathletes.

    #SurftownHalf. Running along the ocean front streets of Misquamicut Beach and Watch Hill, RI, the Surftown Half Marathon is a spectacular beach race featuring stunning views! Fast and flat, the 13.1 mile half marathon is a great destination race with live entertainment on the course, pace teams and a well-marked route with timing clocks, fluid stations and support on the course.

    The 2-person relay gives runners a chance to experience the beach party at the Surftown Half with a buddy! Relay participants exchange at the half-way mark.

    The 5K race offers a 3.1 mile beach run to remember! The fast course runs through the Misquamicut beach community.

    Hubbard Park, nestled in the Hanging Hills of Connecticut, is a wooded, mountainous park with multiple trails, located just outside the city center of Meriden.

    Walk/Run Fur Fun! Participants are encouraged to bring their canines to participate in the event! Be sure to give a heads up when you register if you will be bringing your four footed friend! All proceeds from this fundraiser will directly benefit some furry friend’s vetting costs and the finding of their furever homes during their (hopefully) temporary stay at Meriden Humane Society.

    The Meriden Humane Society is a No-Kill Animal Shelter and Rescue. We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit, Community Shelter. They rely solely on donations from the community.

    Who are the Sunshine Kids?

    The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer. Established in 1982, they are committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. The Sunshine Kids provides a variety of programs and events, free of charge, for kids who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America and right here in Connecticut.

    Join them on Saturday, November 9 for a 3.59 mile race that will take you through 1,100 acres of apple trees & gorgeous scenic views on rolling hills.

    Awards will be presented to the Overall Top Female and Male Finishers, 8 age groups Male/Female. Saving the best for last, “The Perseverance Award” for the last Male/Female finisher!

  • BLUE BACK MITTEN RUN // 12.8.2019 // WEST HARTFORD

    #MittenRun. This festive family holiday tradition welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to celebrate the season as a community. The 5K winds through West Hartford neighborhoods, lined with homes decorated for the holidays and festive shop windows. Bring the kids to participate in the HMF FitKids run- a ½ mile or one mile dash to Blue Back Square.

    All participants receive a warm knit beanie. High-fives from Santa, gourmet hot chocolate and holiday cookies await finishers for post-race merriment in Blue Back Square.

    Please help support neighbors in need to stay warm this winter – donations of new mittens, gloves, scarves and hats are being collected for The Town That Cares Fund, a program of the Town of West Hartford’s Department of Human and Leisure Services.
