GOLD COAST CT ROAD RACES

5K race to benefit the Fairfield Ludlowe H.S. track and cross country teams. Starting at the high school and finishing Olympic-style, on the track.

THE ONLY EVENT OF ITS KIND IN CT – TAKE YOUR PICK OF DISTANCE (you can even change it while you’re in it!) How can that be? The 10k course is designed so that that you can run once, twice or three times. With chip timing you’ll get accurate times for the 10K split, the 20k split and YOUR finish distance. With this safe, flat loop (that includes a 7/10 mi smooth trail section) you’ll be able to maintain a consistent pace of your choice.  This low key event offers a low cost, but still provides a quality run and enjoyable experience.

It has been said “There are no 10Ks in CT anymore!” So here’s one to try. Well marked, quiet roads, early morning start with a warm building to come back to. If you feel great and decide to extend your run for another loop, go for it! 

It is true there aren’t many 20Ks in CT– so here’s an opportunity to try the 12.4mile distance. It’s a great training run for a future half marathon, marathon or just because…and a great chance to run a PR if you’re ready.

If you’re prepping for Boston (or any other spring marathon) and want to do a long trying run with some company and comfort, our 30K will fit your plans. These courses are on the flattest roads in the South Pine Creek area of Fairfield- perfect for a great pacing run. It also includes a groomed trail portion that will help your legs recover thru a peaceful setting. This course is designed to take advantage of a new groomed trail section and decrease water table distances. The course is designed so that you will have water available for you three times on each 10k loop.

You are invited to lace up your sneakers for a family-friendly 5K (3.1mi) run and walk from Greens Farms Academy in support of Komera.  You’ll be going through a great, scenic location with beautiful water views.  The Dragon Dash features a gentle 5K course that winds along Long Island Sound. All ages and fitness abilities are welcome and encouraged.

The mission of our event is to celebrate the lives of Tim & Kim Donnelly and to remember the spirit and heart that they shared with the community. Tragically taken on Feb 2, 2005 – they had a long-lasting and loving effect on everyone who met them and the many who shopped in their family jewelry store.

Our community runs & walks every year since then with their spirit in us. This race offers a 3.5mi run, a 1.5mi walk, and a free kids run.

Since 2012, the Donnelly Dash has supported the Fairfield Police Explorers Post and the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund with donations from the event.

This year, in memory of Tim and Kim, and the thousands of lives lost each year to gun violence, the Donnelly Dash is proud to partner with MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA – a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence.  Moms Demand Action is part of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country.

The run and walk courses are very family-friendly, they are fairly flat & have very few turns.

Dominate the Day 5K is “going green”!

This year there will not be any plastic water bottles or plastic swag bags used. Did you know that plastic can take up to 1000 years to degrade? Dominate the Day Foundation loves this shoreline race site and are committed to keeping it plastic free. Instead, the Regional Water Authority Water Wagon will provide the hydration you need. There will be plenty of paper cups and feel free to bring your own reusable water bottle.

The two-day event features a 5K and Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run on Saturday, June 6. The signature Half Marathon is Sunday, June 7. The scenic half marathon course, traversing the shorelines of Fairfield, Southport & Westport, has been improved to include more scenery, bands & cheer groups.

The Lucas Challenge requires participants to run both the 5K on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday. Those who take on the challenge receive a custom prize!

Both days offer beach parties following the races! All runners are invited to enjoy live music, vendors, loaves of bread, pizza, fruit, refreshments & awards ceremony. Participants are encouraged to register early! The event is limited to 4,000 entrants in the half marathon and 2,000 in the 5K.
