Slowly but surely, the weather is getting colder. Socks are one of the most needed, least donated items for homeless shelters - and who knows more about the need for warm and dry feet than runners?
We have a big community of runners across the state, and we're calling on our friends, teammates, athletic communities, and larger communities to help us collect new socks to be distributed regionally to homeless shelters at the end of October. We are accepting any brand, and any kind of socks, from anywhere, in any and all sizes. We only ask that donated socks be new.
#Socktober is a national giving initiative from SoulPancake, the production company behind the viral Kid President videos. They are encouraging the country to come together and donate 2 million socks over the month of October, and we want to do our part here on the Connecticut shoreline.
So grab your friends, find some socks, and stop by your favorite sound RUNNER location and help us fill a box!
